For english i created a children's book on "The Illnesses behind Vincent Van Gogh's Art". This book took awhile to create and finish, I did lots of research and my own illustrations in the book. To show contextualization I wrote about how Vincents mental illnesses affected his own way of making artwork and how it made his artwork how it is. This included his alcohol addiction along with being sleep deprived and depressed. Although he was depressed and people didn't like his work he still managed to created amazing artwork that many people know and love today, this show to never give up because you'll never know what will happen.

Art
For my art project, I chose to mimic a painting of Van Gogh's. To show contextualization I tried to use colors that Van Gogh used and also techniques to try and dig deeper into how he felt making the painting. Doing this got me into the mindset of Van Gogh and how he created his work. The colors and techniques he used made the painting really come alive. The painting is realistic but the bright color sometimes gives it a bit of a cartoonish feel to this masterpiece.

History
|
For my history piece I wrote an essay on how Vincent Van Gogh affected American art. I contextualized his style, color choice and emotions in his art. I researched a lot and used a informative book to dive deeper into how Van Gogh's art affected American art today. Many things including art and perspectives have evolved and are different now v.s when Vincent was around and many people think Van Gogh was ahead of his time.
